IFCA Masters Slalom, Torbole

After winning the Formula Windsurfing Masters World Championships in Denmark in 2011, Andrea strikes the podium once again at the IFCA Slalom Masters World Championships, hosted in Torbole on Lake Garda, Italy. After 2 slalom finals, Andrea finished with equal points in first, however was relegated to 2nd on a countback. A total of 4 Point-7 riders were inside the Top 10 during the event also.

Andrea Cucchi “It was a great event as 140 people took part. 70 Youth and Jjuniors as well as 70 Masters. The organisation was not ready for such a big event with so many people, so instead of having the chance to set 2 courses, plus thinking wisely how to save time, only 2 slaloms could be finished, instead of an easy 5 for each category. Hopefully IFCA will realise the mistakes and difficulties they had this time and will try for the future to change the format so that they can run this event more smoothly. Being also in the windsurfing business, I can only give my full congratulations to all the team coaches from the different countries and to all the parents who came from all over the world; windsurfing clubs who were able to bring 70 young windsurfers to the event. In the close future we hope that with Point-7 we will be able to find a way to give more support to the young windsurfers who love competitions.
